the original name of this website was dear future healer. this was the culmination of a project i began during my second year of medical school in 2022, when i signed up for a poetry class on a whim. while i have been writing since i was small, in journals and on random scraps of paper, it was only then that i discovered the power of poetry to share bite-sized pieces of my thoughts and experiences on my journey to becoming a healer.
in 2024, the site has been renamed the golden lotus, which is the name of my future practice - which will be more of a school and healing center than a medical practice. docere is the origin of the word doctor, which means to teach. i hope to teach, guide, and cheer on my patients in journeys of health and healing. this site has become the home for health and wellness information, as well as healing stories and healing words i want to share with patients on their journeys. in the future, it'll be the home for the patient portal, and information about the healing center, too.
